Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information InternetArc collects when you visit internetarc.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We collect as little as we can, and we do not sell your personal information.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form submissions — your name, email address, subject and message, when you choose to write to us.
- Comments and feedback — anything you voluntarily send us, including corrections and product suggestions.
Information collected automatically
- Log data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages visited, and date and time of the request. This is generated by our web server as a normal part of serving a page.
- Analytics data — aggregated information about how the site is used: pages viewed, time on page, approximate location at city level, and device category.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see section 4.
We do not knowingly collect special-category data (health, biometric, political, religious or similar), and we ask that you do not send it to us.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and corrections.
- To understand which articles are useful and where the site is failing readers, in aggregate.
- To attribute affiliate referrals so merchants can pay commission owed.
- To keep the site secure, detect abuse, and diagnose technical problems.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Cookies and tracking
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. We use:
- Strictly necessary cookies — needed for the site to function and to remember your cookie-consent choice. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies — used to measure traffic in aggregate. Set only with your consent.
- Affiliate cookies — set by merchants and affiliate networks when you click an affiliate link, so that a resulting purchase can be attributed to us. These are set by the third party, on their domain, under their own privacy policy. Typical durations range from 24 hours to 30–90 days depending on the programme.
You can manage your consent at any time through the cookie banner, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics or affiliate cookies does not affect your ability to read the site. Our full Cookie Policy describes each category in detail.
5. Analytics
We use a third-party web analytics service to measure aggregate traffic. Analytics is loaded only after you consent to analytics cookies. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles, and we do not enable cross-site advertising features.
6. Affiliate links and third parties
When you click an affiliate link you leave our site and are subject to the destination site's own privacy policy and cookie practices. We do not receive your name, address, payment details or order contents from merchants — we typically receive only anonymised, aggregated commission reporting. Our Affiliate Disclosure lists the networks whose links may appear here.
Other processors that may handle data on our behalf include our web host, our contact-form provider, and our content delivery network. Each processes data only on our instructions.
7. Legal bases for processing (UK/EU)
- Consent — analytics cookies.
- Legitimate interests — site security, abuse prevention, and responding to correspondence you initiate.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
8. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We disclose personal information only:
- to service providers who process it on our behalf under contract;
- where required by law, court order or a valid legal request;
- to protect our rights, safety, or the integrity of the site;
- in connection with a merger or acquisition, in which case you will be notified.
9. Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you have the right to: access your data; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data; restrict processing; object to processing based on legitimate interests; data portability; and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@internetarc.com. We respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
10. Your rights under the CCPA/CPRA
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, the right to opt out of sale or sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. See our CCPA Notice and Do Not Sell My Personal Information pages for details and for how to submit a request.
11. Data retention
- Contact-form correspondence — retained while the matter is open and for up to 24 months afterwards.
- Server logs — retained for up to 90 days.
- Aggregated analytics — retained in non-identifying form.
12. International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
13. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We limit access to personal information to those who need it, and we use reputable providers for hosting, forms and email. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no industry-wide standard for responding to it, and we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We do honour the Global Privacy Control signal where it is presented.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the site.
